Set in 8 acres of modulating fairways with a glorious view over vineyard and sunflowers. The Dordogne river, horse-riding and canoeing close at hand.

Situated on the edge of the village of Sadillac, 5 km to the south of Chateau de Monbazillac, and the less famous, but more beautiful Chateau de Bridoire. Chateau de Sadillac is only 15 km from Bergerac and the Dordogne river, superbly situated to explore the countryside, wine, food and history of South West France.

Chateau de Sadillac's history goes back to the 12th centrury when it was an ancient fortified Priory. In the middle-ages Sadillac was a fortified village surrounded by ramparts. Between 1405 and 1569 Thomas head of the protestants razed the village to the ground after ferocious battle, leaving only the apse of the church and the ancient fortified Priory - the chateau - in which he lodged his garrison. Today, the ground-floor and tower, which date back to the 12th century, still exist, along the Church at the side. The upper levels of the Chateau date back to the 16th Century and the whole has been fully and sympathetically restored.

Exclusivity is guaranteed, as only ten Guests at a time will live like French aristocrats in a charming Chateau, dating back to the 11th Century. All the facilities of the Chateau will be for you and your guests to enjoy as your home for a week. Luxurious bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, an elegant salon/living room and a bar will add to the comfort of your stay.

Chateau de Sadillac is a small family business that is dedicated to making your stay in the Dordogne an experience you will remember for the rest of your live. Our love and knowledge of the area has developed over the many years in which we have had a home here. We have gained a sound understanding of the needs of our guests.

For groups of 8 - 15 quests (bigger groups on request) we offer a part of the chateau as an exclusive self-catering holiday accommodation.
There are 6 luxury bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, a huge kitchen, fully equipped with a cooker, combination microwave/ oven, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dishwasher.
There is a bar, with an extra fridge, and entrance to the huge terrace overlooking the golf course. Through the bar you can also enter the spacious sitting/ dinning area on the ground floor.
On the terrace you can find a children play-corner, a life size chess, and the entrance to the pool complex, the terrace is surrounded by a medieval stone wall.

There is golf equipment available for children and adults, also there are several highchairs and cots available.

Bedroom 1: On the first floor overlooking the court-yard, spacious room with a four poster bed (1.80*2.00 meters), a seat and adjoining bathroom with bath/shower, washbasin and toilet.

Bedroom 2: On the second floor overlooking the golf course and the courtyard it is the largest room. Furnished with a huge four poster bed, a cozy nook and adjoining bathroom in the tower with a shower, wash basin and toilet. On the mezzanine floor is an antique French bed (1.10*1.90 meters) for an adult or a child.

Bedroom 3, 4 and 5: Also on the second floor, overlooking the golf-course, more or less identical rooms with a double bed (1.80*2.00 meters) and wash basin. These rooms are sharing one big shower room with a wash basin and a seperate toilet.

Bedroom 6: On the ground floor, furnished with a four poster bed (1.80*2.00 meters), a seat and in the adjoining tower a bathroom with a shower, wash basin and toilet. This room has its own entrance and terrace.

The Chateau has a private 9 hole golfcourse, with an attractive lake, set in 8 acres of undulating fairways. It is a compact par 27 approach course ideal for improving one's game or for the ambitious beginner.
For the keen golfer several other golf courses are within easy reach, for instance the famous championship course at Chateau de Vigiers (18 hole par 72). Other golf courses in the neighbor-hood are the Golf de Castelnaud (18 hole par 72, 9 hole par 31). Chateau Les Merles (9 hole par 36).

A large heated swimming pool (6*12m) with Roman end and terrace, surrounded by a laurel hegde for maximum privacy. A Finish sauna, changing room, shower and toilet are situated by the swimming pool. Through the bar, you can enter the huge terrace, equipped with garden furniture. In a private corner there is a playground for children.
